Happy Gilmore's Back On The Green, But These Are The Sequels Fans TRULY Want

He's back to finish the job.

Break out your hockey-stick putter and gold jacket! Nearly three decades after he told Bob Barker where the price was truly wrong, Adam Sandler is officially back as the angriest golfer on the PGA Tour. "Happy Gilmore 2" has arrived on Netflix, reuniting the iconic cast including Christopher McDonald’s villainous Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen's Virginia Venit. While we're all eager to see if Happy can still find his happy place, this massive blast of 90s nostalgia has opened the floodgates on a bigger question: what’s next?

The return of one sports icon has us dreaming of which other cinematic legends deserve another shot at glory. Hollywood, take notes.

Fever Pitch 2: The Dynasty Dilemma

The 2005 rom-com starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon perfectly captured the agony and ecstasy of being a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan during their curse-breaking season. But what happens to that relationship when the team isn't the lovable underdog anymore? We need to see if Ben's obsession survived multiple World Series titles or if Lindsey finally traded the Fenway seats for a peaceful vacation that doesn't depend on the Sox's postseason chances. The dynamic of a fan whose entire identity was built on suffering is too good to pass up.

A League of Their Own: The Next Generation

There's no crying in baseball, but we might shed a tear if we don't get a proper follow-up to "A League of Their Own." The story of the Rockford Peaches is a timeless classic. Imagine a sequel set in the 1960s, with Dottie Hinson or Kit Keller now in a managerial role, scouting a new generation of female players fighting for their place on the diamond in a completely different social landscape. The potential for powerful, emotional storytelling that honors the original is immense.

The Mighty Ducks 4: The Last Quack

While the Ducks got a recent streaming series, fans are still clamoring for a true "D4" that reunites the original movie cast. What happened to Charlie Conway after the prep school drama of D3? Did he ever make it to the NHL? We envision a down-on-his-luck Conway being forced to return to Minnesota to coach a new team of misfits, bringing the story full circle with Gordon Bombay serving as his reluctant mentor. It's the Flying V of sequel ideas.

So, while "Happy Gilmore 2" tees off, the bench of potential sports sequels is deeper than ever. The nostalgia is powerful, and the stories are far from over. The ball is in Hollywood's court now. What legendary sports movie are you desperate to see get another chapter?
